A Stellar Journey

by Kate Flynn

Anxious to escape my body
too small for this hunger

There’s no peace here.
My fingers, numb from words,
lies, not poems.

The rains came but didn’t stay
left sunflowers soon dying
along the worn path

Have you eaten the honey
of unknown stars?
Been moored at L2?

I’ll tell you, there
you’ll never hunger again.
Don’t wait,

Leave now
before it’s too late.
